Updated Future Activities: August - October 2014

Haunting in the Hollow is Oct. 18th.  - We will have a spot again this year.  Those of you who do drill team or are interested in participating, let me know if you would be available to do a demonstration at Haunting in the Hollow.  Let me know so Dave can put it on the schedule.  We probably need to have at least 4 people to have it look good.

Agility Fun Match and Responsible Dog Owner Day - It will Sept 20th with Oct 4th as the rain date.  We will hold it at the softball fields near West Plains High School.  Please start contacting folks with purebred dogs that are good representatives of their breed to see if they would be interested in being there so people can see their breed and learn about it.  At this time we are planning on starting at 9:30.  It will probably run until 3 or so.  We are going to do this a little different this year.  Instead of having all the demonstrations after the fun match, we are going to have a demonstration between each agility division.  The parade of breeds will be near the beginning of the show.

NHC, a nursing home in West Plains, is having a "dog show" for the residents.  They are inviting folks to bring puppies and well behaved adult dogs that would not mind being loved on by the residents.  The are going to do this Friday, Aug. 22nd. starting at 2:30.  If you would like to do this please contact Audry Sears at the nursing home.  The number is 417-256-1088.  They have done this before and it really cheers up the residents.  So many of them miss their pets and enjoy getting to pet and see these dogs.

Incredible Dog Challenge at Purina Farms is Sept. 27th.  We are planning a day trip to watch this event.  This is the national finals.  We had a great time last year.  We will do a head count towards the end of Aug. to see who all wants to go.  There is no cost to watch.  We will car pool and just split the cost of gas.  Last year we stopped in Rolla on the way home for dinner.  There is food for sale at the event.  It is a little high but not too bad.  I think last year the event started around 10:00 am.
